# Quickstart

Go from a new Aisoiq account to tracked keywords, a completed audit and a first published article.

This walkthrough assumes you have an agency account and at least one client site you are allowed to work on. It takes about an hour end to end, most of which is waiting on crawls and data pulls rather than active work.

1. **Finish your agency profile**: Agency → Profile. Add your logo (light and dark), contact details and social links. These values are reused across reports, proposals and client-facing emails, so getting this right once saves re-editing every deliverable later.
2. **Add your first client**: Agency → Clients → Add client. Enter the business name, website URL and location. Duplicate protection checks the domain and Business Profile so two teams cannot onboard the same business twice.
3. **Complete client onboarding**: Open the client and work through onboarding: services, target locations, competitors, and the business description. This is the context every AI feature reads from, treat it as the client's brief, not a formality.
4. **Connect the site**: Client Settings → Integrations. Connect WordPress with an application password for direct publishing, or install the SEO script for schema, widgets and page-level changes. Connect Search Console here too if you have access.
5. **Run a site audit**: Onsite SEO → Tasks. Run an audit to crawl the site and generate prioritised tasks with AI-written fixes.
6. **Build a keyword set**: Onsite SEO → Keywords.ai. Generate a topical map and keyword clusters, review intent and difficulty, then send the keywords you want into rank tracking.
7. **Publish something**: Onsite SEO → Blogs → New article. Pick a keyword, generate the draft, review the SEO score, then publish or schedule it.
8. **Share a report**: Reporting → Client reports. Generate a report and send the branded public link to the client.

> **Do onboarding properly**: Skipping the services, locations and business description makes every AI output generic. Ten minutes here changes the quality of everything downstream, the same input feeds blog drafts, task rewrites, press releases and Business Profile posts.

## What to expect on day one

| Task | Typical time to data |
| --- | --- |
| Site audit + tasks | Minutes for small sites, longer for large crawls |
| Keyword rankings | First positions on the next scheduled refresh |
| Backlink profile | Minutes, pulled from the live backlink index |
| Business Profile data | After the business authorizes access |
| Search Console history | Next daily sync after the property is connected |

## Two ways to connect a site

**WordPress**

Best when the client runs WordPress and you want direct publishing. Generate an application password in the client's WordPress admin (Users → Profile → Application Passwords), then paste it into Client Settings → Integrations → WordPress along with the site URL and a username. Once connected, tasks, blogs and geo articles can be deployed straight to draft or live posts.

**SEO script**

Best for non-WordPress sites, or when you want schema, widgets and page-level fixes without a CMS integration. Install a single script tag on the site (Client Settings → Integrations → SEO Script gives you the exact snippet and a verification check). The script applies approved metadata, structured data and widget changes without touching the CMS.

**Manual / developer export**

If a developer owns deployment, skip live integration entirely. Generate content and fixes as normal, then use the export option on each task or article to hand off clean HTML and metadata for manual deployment.

## Verifying each step worked

**How do I know the audit actually crawled the site?**

Open the audit report, it lists total pages crawled and a timestamp. If the page count is far lower than the site's real size, the crawler was likely blocked; check robots rules or bot protection before trusting the task list.

**How do I know the WordPress connection is live?**

Client Settings → Integrations shows a connected status with the last successful check. Deploy one small task first, a single meta description update, and confirm it appears on the live page before doing anything in bulk.

**How soon will rankings show real positions?**

A newly tracked keyword gets its first position on the next scheduled refresh, not instantly. If you need a number immediately, use the on-demand refresh instead of waiting for the recurring job.

**The client dashboard looks empty on day one, is that normal?**

Yes. Most widgets need at least one completed audit, one rank check and one connected data source before they have anything to show. Give it a day, then check the activity feed for any failed jobs.
